Saturday July 30, 2022, at 5.43 p.m., three children aged 9, 6 and 5 narrowly escaped drowning in Jumièges, west of Rouen (Seine-Maritime).
“While playing together, one of the children began to drown and dragged the other two, specify the firefighters of Seine-Maritime. The first, conscious, having swallowed water only. The second and third were picked up by the beach supervisors in cardio-respiratory arrest”. After cardiac massage, the children regained consciousness.
Taken to hospital
The children were transported to hospital in Rouen “for supervision”. The parents, present at the scene, were “seen by the gendarmerie”.
Fourteen firefighters intervened, as well as a team from Smur (Mobile emergency and resuscitation structure).
