Three Bundesliga clubs qualify for Women’s Champions League group stage

The field for the group stage of the 2021/22 UEFA Women’s Champions League is now set, and the Bundesliga will be represented by Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg, and Hoffenheim. The Germans are the only league with three representatives in the group stage, while the other elite leagues were reduced to only one or two teams out of a possible three.

Bayern qualified for direct entrance to the group stage by winning the Bundesliga; however, Wolfsburg edged Bordeaux on penalties, and Hoffenheim stormed past Rosengård 6-3 to reach this point in the competition.

France will be represented by Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon. Reigning UWCL Champions Barcelona will be joined by Real Madrid. With Manchester City being eliminated by Madrid in the Round 2, England will also be represented by Chelsea and Arsenal.
