Yesterday afternoon an observant passer-by reported that three boys were standing at a bicycle tunnel on the Middeldijk in Barendrecht. They would have stopped two people on a scooter in the tunnel. The police are still looking for these people on the scooter.

The police were quickly on the spot, but the boys were aware of that. They fled. Two of the boys were then stopped on the green belt of a nearby road. The last suspect swam across the ditch and was later arrested.
The boys from Heinenoord, Maasdam and Oud-Beijerland are suspected of an (attempted) street robbery and illegal possession of weapons. The police are investigating the incident.
