Two new boats have reached the Alicante coast throughout the weekend. The first of them was located on Saturday afternoon in Calpe and the other last night in Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
In the first of them, five immigrants in good health were intercepted after reaching a Calp beach aboard a boat, from which the rest of the occupants were searched. The boat was located on the Racó beach and it is estimated that around a dozen people traveled in it, according to the Red Cross.
The five undocumented persons are adults of Algerian origin and were transferred to the port of Alicante to be treated before being subjected to a PCR test for detection of covid-19.
And on the other hand, last night another precarious boat was intercepted in Poble Nou de Benitatxel with 12 people, 11 men and a woman who was about eight months pregnant. The woman was taken directly to the General Hospital of Alicante and the rest of the occupants to the port.
And finally, this morning a third boat was located 20 miles off the coast of Cabo Roig in Orihuela with eleven people of Algerian origin on board in good health.
