The year 2025 will bring the lowest pension increase in years. It is made on the same principles as pension indexation – benefits are increased by inflation and 20%. salary increase.
Next year, the index may be calculated in this way to 5.52%. – this is according to the data included in the draft state budget for 2025. Pension indexation is done every year on March 1.
How does it affect the amount of payments?
Assuming the government’s forecasts turn out to be correct, the payments will change as follows:

• the minimum pension for partial incapacity for work yes now 1 thousand PLN 335 and 72 gross gr. From March 1, 2025, it could increase to PLN 1,409.45 full,
• the minimum pension for people who are completely unable to work due to an accident or occupational disease yes now 2 thousand PLN 137 and 15 Gr. After indexation, it could increase to PLN 2,000. PLN 255 and 12 groszy,
• the minimum pension for people who are unable to work due to an accident or occupational disease yes now 1 thousand PLN 602 and 86 gross gr. After indexation, it could increase to PLN 1,000. PLN 691 and 34 gross.

Will the alcohol pension also increase?
The question arises whether the alcohol pension will also be increased next year. What kind of benefit is this? This is only a pension for incapacity for work caused by alcohol. Currently, the minimum bonus is PLN 1,000. PLN 780 and PLN 96 full and from March 1, 2025 it can increase to PLN 1,000. PLN 879 and 26 gross.

Widows and widowers will also receive changes. On January 1, an act will come into force that allows widows and widowers to combine their pension with the pension of a survivor of the deceased. This opportunity will be available to people who:
• they have reached the general retirement age – at least 60 years for women and 65 years for men;
• she remained in the married community until the death of the spouse;
• they were entitled to a survivor’s pension after their deceased spouse no earlier than five years before reaching the retirement age mentioned above;
• is not newly married.

To be able to combine a survivor’s pension with a retirement pension, you must submit an application to the pension institutions ZUS, KRUS or uniform services. Payments will begin on July 1, 2025.
Changes in social pension. They will pay compensation
From January 1, 2025, the social pension for disabled people who cannot live independently will be increased to the minimum wage, i.e. PLN 4,000. PLN 300.
Aid in a higher amount will not be paid automatically. You must submit a special application to ZUS. It will be possible to do this from January 1, 2025. And here’s the catch again – ZUS will add PLN 2,000 to the social pension that a disabled person already has. PLN 520 free. The amount of this supplementary allowance will be recorded each year, just like the pension.
Although the provisions for increasing the survivor’s pension to the amount of the minimum wage will come into force on 1 January 2025, payments will be suspended. The first transfers and funds will only start in May. Why? The idea is to give ZUS time to prepare for handling the new benefit.
So what will it look like technically? Disabled people will continue to receive a social pension, but from May 2025 it will be increased by this development (ie the amount of PLN 2,520 full). In addition, compensation will be paid for the period between January and May 2025, which means that the transfers and funds of May will be higher by approximately PLN 12,000. PLN 600 full (additional amount, ie PLN 2,520 times five months).
