Barcelona Gerard Pique left at the end of last year by deciding to retire. Then in the January 2023 winter transfer market, Memphis Depay was bought by Atletico Madrid and Hector Bellerin was released free of charge to Sporting.
Barcelona reportedly targeting Sofyan Amrabat but never got it. Fiorentina are reluctant to let go of the defensive midfielder.
Trainer Xavi Hernandez asked about the transfer market this winter. Xavi gave a code, if he was satisfied with the existing squad.
“With three players leaving, it would be great if there were replacement recruits. And for what position? I don’t know,” he said as quoted from Brand.
“We are in a situation that depends on ‘fair play’ (about the balance sheet-ed),” he added.
Xavi Hernandez even reluctant to discuss the matter of Sofyan Amrabat. Xavi is only focused on bringing his team to last longer at the top of the Spanish League Standings.
“Amrabat? I’m not going to talk about players who are not in my team. He’s a great player, that’s all,” he concluded.
