Three arrests after special broadcasts about curfews in Brabant

After two special broadcasts about the curfews in Eindhoven and Den Bosch on Omroep Brabant, 3 of the 56 suspects shown have reported to the police.

In the extra broadcasts, participants in the curfew riots were clearly portrayed. The rioters were called to report, viewers were asked if they recognized rioters.

Seventy tips

Last Wednesday, the police showed images of 38 rioters who misbehaved in Eindhoven on Sunday, January 24. Even before the broadcast, two underage boys from Nuenen and Waalre reported to the police. After the broadcast, another boy from the Eindhoven region was added.

The police then showed 18 suspects of the riots in Den Bosch in a recognizable image on Saturday. None of them have been arrested yet.

The police do not want to speak of a disappointing result, because about 70 tips were received. “Some of them are very useful, so we expect to be able to arrest more people,” a spokesman said Broadcasting Brabant.
