Three-Alarm Fire Injures 11 in Brooklyn – NBC New York

A three-alarm fire injured 11 people, including those two firefighters, Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, the New York City Fire Department announced.

The incident occurred around 4:00 pm in a building located at 5701 6th Avenue in Sunset Park and within minutes it went from two alarms to three, the FDNY said.

A total of 11 people were injured, including those two firefighters, the department said. One of the firefighters was treated at the scene but refused to go to the hospital.

The other patients were transported to Maimonides and NYU and their condition is unknown, officials said.

The fire was brought under control at 5:11 pm and the cause is still unknown.

This is a case under investigation.
