Yesterday at around 11.50 a.m. there was a traffic accident on federal highway 273, in which several people involved in the accident were injured. A 36-year-old Skoda driver drove from Schmachtenhagen in the direction of Oranienburg and apparently noticed a refuse vehicle stopping in its lane too late. In an evasive maneuver, the Skoda got into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an Opel car belonging to a 47-year-old. The 36-year-old, his 32-year-old co-driver, two children in the Skoda aged five and eight and the 47-year-old Opel driver came to nearby hospitals with minor injuries. Both vehicles had to be recovered. The total damage was around 15,000 euros. During the recording of the accident, comrades from the fire brigade and police officers blocked the B 273 completely for about 90 minutes. Since the street had to be cleaned, there was also a half-way closure afterwards, which could be lifted around 3:50 p.m.
