– Threatens the continent’s security – VG

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Several European countries will send heavy weapons to Ukraine. It does not fall into good soil with the Kremlin, which comes with new threats.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov is once again out rattling the sabers, claiming on Thursday that sending heavy weapons to Ukraine will threaten Europe’s security.

“In itself, the tendency to pump weapons, including heavy weapons, to Ukraine and other countries is actions that threaten the security of the continent and provoke instability,” he said, according to the state-controlled Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

The statement is a reaction to the British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, who on Wednesday asked Ukraine’s allies to step up production of, among other things, tanks and warplanes to help Ukraine. She also argued that the West must strengthen its defenses in other countries threatened by Russia, including Moldova and Georgia.

– If Russia succeeds, it will lead to suffering throughout Europe. It is imperative for the West that Ukraine wins, said the British minister.

This week, several European countries have also called for more – and heavier – weapons to be sent to Ukraine:

Slovakias President Zuzana Caputova said on Wednesday that the country is ready to supply more weapons to Ukraine, including artillery, as long as the Slovaks’ own defense capability is not weakened.

In the USA Minister of Defense Lloyd Austin promised earlier this week that Ukraine’s allies will “set heaven and earth in motion” to supply the country with everything they ask for in terms of weapons and military equipment, according to NTB.

Germanywhich since the beginning of the invasion has maintained its practice of not sending weapons to areas of war or where war threatens, will now send tanks to Ukraine.

GERMAN TANKS: Germany has decided to send heavy weapons to Ukraine, including the Cheetah air defense system as in the picture from 2004.

On Thursday, the German National Assembly decided to send heavy weapons to Ukraine. The country is now scheduled to provide Slovenia with German armored vehicles to replace vehicles sent by Slovenia to the east. In addition, Germany will send bombers directly to Ukraine and allow Kyiv to buy tanks with anti-aircraft guns directly from Germany.

Also Norway will contribute with arms procurement:

This week, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor Party) promised NOK 400 million to a weapons fund for Ukraine, and says the government is also considering donating heavier weapons from Norway.
