TRØGSTAD (VG) For almost ten years, multi-disabled Ludvik Teigen (13) has visited Gjeterud farm weekly to ride the horse Kiko. But the horse center fears that they and the neighboring farms will have to close down, if a large motorsport center becomes their new neighbour.

The horse center Gjeterud gård in Trøgstad fears that they and the neighboring farms will have to close down if a large motorsport center is built nearby. The motorsport environment, organized in Motorpark Indre Østfold AS, has bought land at Jørgentvedt and is approaching the realization of the motorsport center they have wanted for decades. The decision on whether the area will be regulated as an LNF area or whether the motorsport center will be established will determine when Indre Østfold municipality will adopt a new land plan in mid-September. – When he came here for the first time as a three-year-old, he was unable to sit on the horse alone. He had zero control and had to have someone sit and hold him up. Now he sits all alone on the horse, says mother Anne Rygge Teigen to VG.

She has just seen her son come into full bloom together with his companion Kiko in the riding house at Gjeterud farm. Ludvik is multi-disabled with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and is dependent on a wheelchair in everyday life.

The therapy riding builds both muscles and gives the 13-year-old a well-deserved sense of mastery.

– This offer means a lot to Ludvik. Every week we travel here to ride, and it’s just as much fun every time. It has done a lot for his back muscles. He gets much of the same exercise through riding that he lacks from not being able to walk himself.

– What do you do if the offer is cancelled?

– There is no other offer like this in the local area. If it disappears, we will have to travel far to ride. We are unable to do so due to Ludvik’s health. Then we unfortunately have to cut out riding, says Anne Rygge Teigen.

Five years ago, Bente Andreassen suffered a stroke. She became paralyzed on half the side of her body, and has been actively using therapy riding for a year and a half.

It is good for both body and mind, according to Andreassen.

– I’m always in a better mood after being here, my husband tells me every time I come home from riding. I was very fond of running before I got sick. Here I get an outlet for what I lost when I got sick. This is the lucky pill of the week.

Already in the spring of 2017, VG wrote that the establishment of Indre Østfold Motorpark threatened the existence of Gjeterud farm in Trøgstad.

The motorsport community now looks set to get the facility they have been waiting for for decades, and recently bought land for JørgentvedtJørgentvedtThe area in Trøgstad where the motorsport facility is proposed to be built.according to the local newspaper Smaalenene’s newspaper. At the same time, the five neighboring farms fear that they will have to shut down their operations.

– Farming in a red noise zone is not possible. We are simply forced to shut down, says farm owner Per Røssum, who runs the horse center together with his wife Kjersti Vik.

– Both the horses and the users are extra sensitive to noise. It won’t be anything special for us who live here either. We get up early and work long days. If this happens, we will lose the opportunity to relax in the evening, says Vik.

Neighbor Ole Jan Skogstad runs a chicken farm a few stones’ throw away from the equestrian center.

Soon, son Kjell Arne Skogstad will take over the operation, then father and son hope that it will happen without the motorsport facility as the nearest neighbour.

– We are five important contributors to society. I have nothing against the motorsport community wanting a new facility. But that they are now going to enter a well-established environment for food production, and tear it up… I don’t understand that, says Ole Jan Skogstad.

Motorpark Indre Østfold ASMotorpark Indre Østfold AS is the initiator of the motorsport facility on behalf of the two motorsport clubs in Indre Østfold. The clubs have a total of 1,200 members. who is the initiator of the motorsport facility. VG has presented them with the criticism from the neighbours.

– Motorsport, equestrian sports and agriculture can live well side by side. Motorsport has had races on the Momarken track since the 1970s. There is motorsport at Bjerke racecourse and Årjäng racecourse. It is going very well, writes chairman Vidar Berge in an e-mail.

Berge claims the neighbors are spreading falsehoods:

– It upsets us zealots and our members. No one lives in what the neighbors call the “red noise zone”. Sweco has carried out noise calculations which show that noise from the engine center will be below the set limit values. The neighbors know that well, writes Berge, who hopes they can sit down together with the neighbors and find a good solution.

The neighbors react to the allegation of untruths and Berge’s wish for a meeting:

– We have not heard from Indre Østfold Motorpark since 2017, when we were invited to an information meeting. When we asked before the meeting to be informed about the noise problems, they canceled the entire meeting. We have never seen anything like Sweco’s noise calculations, says Per Røssum.

In mid-September, Indre Østfold municipality adoptsIndre Østfold municipalityIn 2020, Trøgstad municipality was merged with Askim, Eidsberg, Hobøl, and Spydeberg into Indre Østfold municipality. new area plan area plan An area plan provides rules for how the areas within an area can be used for or what kind of buildings can be permitted.. In 2018, the plant was approved in the area plan of old Trøgstad municipality.

Mayor of Indre Østfold, Saxe Frøshaug (Sp), informs VG that the facility is also being continued in the area plan for Indre Østfold.

– There is a majority with us for it to remain inside. Motorsport means a lot to the young people out here. The two motor clubs that join together for this have over 1,000 members. They have been looking for a proper pitch for over 30 years.

– When it was dealt with in Trøgstad, all considerations relating to the establishment of the motorsport track were carefully considered. Today, the track at Momarken trotbane is in the city centre. Far fewer will be affected by a new facility being built at Jørgentvedt, continues the mayor.

The neighbors react to the Sp support for the project:

– It is startling that the farmers’ party is in favor of a proposal that will hit the primary industry hard, says Røssum.

– There are no farms that have to be shut down because of this. All considerations are taken care of through the zoning plan, assures the mayor.
