Threads: The Rapid Rise of Meta’s Newest Social Network, Surpassing TikTok and Instagram

It is stated that the popular artificial intelligence tool “ChatGPT” took two months to reach 100 million users, while the social networks “TikTok” and “Instagram” took nine months and 2.5 years, respectively.

After already reaching 70 million users, Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, owner of Threads, wrote that “it far exceeds our expectations.”

“It’s a much better start than we could have imagined! It feels like it’s the start of something very special,” he said.

The advantage of “Threads” is that the social network is a derivative of “Instagram”, which has an active audience of two billion users. This has allowed the new social network to quickly attract new users. Despite being used by millions of people every day, Threads lacks several features like private messages, hashtags, and post editing.

It should be recalled that on July 6, “Meta” launched “Threads”, which positions itself as a direct competitor of “Twitter”. In response to “Meta’s” action, “Twitter” has threatened to take legal action against “Meta”.
