Publisher THQ Nordic will release a survival horror game on September 5th.“Alone in the Dark”announced the postponement of the release date from the previously scheduled October 25 (related article). Alone in the Dark is a remake of the 1992 survival horror game of the same name. The game is set in the 1920s American South, in a psychiatric ward called the Delceto Mansion. The two main characters are Emily Hartwood, who is searching for her missing uncle Jeremy Hartwood, and private investigator Edward Carnby, who helps her find it. The two set off on a journey to the Derceto mansion, where strange residents live and hide a sinister plot, in order to ascertain the whereabouts of their uncle.
In this announcement, it was announced that the previously scheduled release date of October 25th will be changed/postponed to January 16th, 2024. The reason for this postponement is to provide the best game experience by further brushing up this work during the period until its release. In addition, in the press release for overseas, “Another reason for the postponement” is mentioned about “Alan Wake 2” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”, which were also scheduled to be released in October. By postponing the release, at the same time as avoiding competition with these notable titles, it is said that the developers of the same work will have “a period to be fully immersed in the title” mentioned above. This is probably a joke that was added with respect to both works that were originally scheduled to be released at the same time.
The game will be developed by Pieces Interactive, a developer affiliated with THQ Nordic. Both main characters are played by Hollywood actors, including Jodie Comer as Emily Hartwood and David Harbor as Edward Carnby. In addition, the scenario of this work is handled by Mikael Hedberg, who worked on horror titles such as “SOMA” and “Amnesia”.
This work is a remake version that will be released more than 30 years after the appearance of the original version, and it can be said that it is a title that has high expectations from series fans.
