About two thousand trucks are stuck in a traffic jam on the border between Ukraine and Poland. This happened due to the ongoing blocking of three border crossing points by Polish carriers. Representative of the Ukrainian State Border Service Andrey Demchenko spoke about this.
“The blocking of the directions of the checkpoints “Rava-Russkaya-Grebnoye”, “Krakovets-Korcheva”, “Yagodin-Dorogusk” continues. As of the morning of January 8, 1,350 trucks are in queues on these three directions towards Ukraine,” Demchenko told the Ukrinform agency. He added that another 950 heavy trucks were stuck at other points.
Supplies of military cargo to Ukraine were blocked due to a protest by Polish carriers on the border of the two countries. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Zvarych called on the Polish authorities to urgently unblock the movement of freight vehicles.
