A close-knit community and life-long experiences await the young people who apply for the national defense camps, who will get to know the beauty of this profession – quoted Minister of National Defense Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky in a statement sent to MTI on Thursday.
For the seventh time this year, the Hungarian Defense Forces organizes summer camps for young people, who can spend their free time in the open air under the supervision of professionals, dressed in military uniforms, in safe conditions, the Ministry of Defense wrote.
“This year, we are expecting a total of 5,000 students in the national defense camps, but there are still places available in several settlements,” the minister of national defense said, adding: the gates of the warrior, survivor, national defense sports, self-defense, info-communication, sailing and radio amateur camps they are still open to young people.
From June to August, young people can spend their holidays in almost 100 camps and 135 tours at around 59 different locations in the country. Students between the ages of 12 and 18 can choose from 17 different topics, depending on their interests.
According to the Minister of National Defense, soldiers are not trained in national defense camps, young people can learn about the Hungarian Armed Forces and the life of soldiers in a playful way, while participating in the biggest adventure of the summer.
It was written about the camps: every morning at six o’clock the day begins with a wake-up call and a joint exercise. During the day, the children can take part in exciting programs, air rifle shooting, skill competitions, and airsoft games, while also gaining knowledge in first aid and terrain science.
They added: by the end of the camp, the students will learn what discipline, precise order, cohesion and mutual attention are. They learn their own limits while making new experiences and friends.
