“It is unacceptable that healthcare workers should be forced to give up their fundamental right to physical integrity,” organizers said. “This sets a dangerous precedent that makes a job a ‘right’ that the government can take away at will. Moreover, this mandatory vaccination cannot be justified in any way from a scientific point of view. Vaccinated people can also transmit the virus, which has been proven several times.”

The demonstrators are also demanding more investment in the healthcare sector, in order to halt the outflow of staff and to guarantee high-quality care: “During 2 years of the corona crisis, no investment has been made in the healthcare sector, but measures have been taken to ensure that the population caused immense damage,” it sounds. “They are now trying to fire tens of thousands of people who are not blindly following the vaccination campaign, in a sector that is already struggling with enormous shortages due to decades of mismanagement.”

The demonstration started at the North Station and crossed the small Brussels ring to the Central Station, and went without incident.
