The nineteenth year of the traveling festival Hrady CZ ended its summer tour this year on Friday and Saturday, August 30 and 31 in Bezděz. | Video: Diary/Petra Hámová
The bands The Agony, Jamaron and this year’s only representative of the Slovak music scene – Horkýže Slíže – started the Friday program of the last stop of the traveling festival. This was followed by the traditional announcement of the prettiest carnival masks, and then the audience danced to the popular songs of Mig 21 and Trautenberk. The main star was Daniel Landa, who presented himself at the festival for the very first time.
The opening day was accompanied by complications with by transportwhen long lines formed on the main access roads to the parking lot and some visitors spent more than an hour in them. On Saturday, it was possible to increase the staffing of the parking lot, and the biggest “problem” remained only the steamy weather that accompanied the whole day.
The events on the stages started already before noon in Brixtn, the large audience was also attracted by the bands Jelen, UDG and the lesser-known Fast Food Orchestra, who got the visitors dancing despite the heat. Castles CZ also give space to young talents and new musical discoveries, on Saturday it was, for example, the singer and producer Marcell, the fiedlerski or šumper line-up Byt number 4.

Who, on the other hand, did not necessarily have to be introduced twice were the punk legends Visací zámek or the Pardubice group Vypsaná fixa, which celebrates 30 years of operation this year. The same anniversary is also commemorated by Chinaski, who Don’t worry they performed in the best form. They didn’t just play modern hits, they also dusted off their old stuff.
The two-day festival ended with a concert by Lucie, who announced long in advance that it would be the last performance in the line-up with David Koller. During an hour and a half, all major hits such as Screws in the Head, Lucie, Hybyby, Black Angels, Sen or America were played. They said goodbye to the fans somewhat symbolically with the song I want to sleep again, which Koller originally recorded for his debut solo album in the early 90s. She did not experience success until ten years later, when Lucie played it at her concert at the State Opera.
This year, the CZ Castles Festival took place in Točník, Kunětické hora, Švihov, Rožmberk nad Vltavou, Veveří, Hradec nad Moravicí, Bouzov and Bezděz.
