This December 1st the deadline expires so that New Yorkers who processed their driver’s license online during the pandemic can comply with sending their vision exam.
If notwarned the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) the documents will be suspended.
This applies to those who processed their document between March 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021.
In April, the DMV reported that some 150,000 driver’s licenses could be revoked.
The organization recalled that during the pandemic, drivers could postpone, but not skip, their vision test to renew the document.
What should I do if I missed my vision exam?
If you are one of the people who are at risk of losing your license, this is what you should do:
You can go to any of the Department of Vehicles offices ( check the list here) to take the exam.
Go to an approved provider ( click here to search for it), to take the exam. In this case you do not need to do anything else, as the provider will report the results directly to the DMV.
By mail, sending only your complete MV-619 to the following address: License Production Office, PO Box 2688-ESP, Albany, NY 12220-0668, serving Vision Registry.
