Britain’s Secretary of Defense Ben Walls points out that as the Russian aggression in Ukraine continues, the deployment of British forces throughout Eastern Europe will show solidarity and strength.

The armed forces will be deployed in countries from Finland to northern Macedonia. They will be joined by tens of thousands of troops from NATO and the Joint Response Force, including Denmark, Iceland and Norway.

The British Ministry of Defense said the planned exercises would improve the ability of the UK and other troops to work together to deter Russian aggression in Scandinavia and the Baltics.

“Operating across Europe, the British Army will stand by its partners, combining capabilities and shared values, promoting peace and security. “The aim of the exercise is to show how large and significant the British army’s contribution is to European defense,” The Guardian said.

A British military veteran has been killed in Ukraine in the fight against Russian forces, and there are reports of missing persons, Sky News reports.

Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine with rocket fire, airstrikes and ground forces began in the early hours of 24 February. At the outset, the Ukrainian government urged volunteers from around the world to help support the Ukrainian armed forces.
