Thousands Line Up for Free Flemish Tulips at Opera Square in ‘Become a Giver Too’ Campaign

A long line of people waited far beyond the Opera Square for the tulip picking campaign. The Pluktuin had 100,000 Flemish tulips, which came from a specialized company in West Flanders. The tulips are grown in hydroponics and are resistant to the winter cold. People were allowed to choose fifteen tulips for free until 4 p.m.

The tulip campaign is part of the ‘Become a giver too’ campaign. VLAM wants to promote our flowers and plants as an ideal gift to give or receive. The promotion is organized on the third Saturday of January to announce the spring flowering season.
