Thousands Gather at Spectacular Police Show in Bad Soden-Salmünster

Police show attracts spectators: around 10,000 visitors were drawn to the Kurpark – Bad Soden-Salmünster

(fg) Equestrian squadron, demonstration of the dog squadron, the landing of the police helicopter and much more: in Bad Soden-Salmünster, visitors were offered numerous spectacular performances at the police show on Saturday.

The 35th police show of the South East Hesse Police Headquarters took place there for the first time on the grounds of the spa park in the most wonderful late summer weather – and ended with loud applause after the motorcycle relay rounded off the event with some artistic driving maneuvers.

Mayor Dominik Brasch and police chief Daniel Muth had opened the event a good six hours earlier. In their welcoming speeches, they emphasized that such an event was intended to strengthen proximity to the citizens – and they, spa guests and spectators from the region, were able to see this for themselves in the coming hours.

Program for young police fans

When the police show began, the children flocked to the youth traffic school’s skills course: the wheels were in motion the entire morning. The forensic investigators were also very popular, where the “little detectives” in particular were able to go on fictitious searches for clues and visit a crime scene. The specialists also showed how to make a fingerprint visible and how to secure it. Our operational trainers showed the extensive police equipment and also let the little police fans slip into a protective vest. The motorcycles of the motorcycle squadron, the water cannon, the riot police vehicles and our police lion “LEON” were used throughout as popular photo motifs.

Focus on recruiting young talent

Anyone who became interested in the police profession, inspired by the exhibitions and performances, could find out more on site from the police recruitment advice service. Those interested were advised about a career with the Hesse police by our recruitment consultant Kirsten Krüger and our recruitment consultant Christopher Wenzel as well as by students. It was already pointed out in advance that applications could be submitted on site on the day of the police show. The opportunity was actively used: after submitting their applications, several young people were able to enjoy a voucher for an exclusive visit to the police headquarters in Offenbach – possibly their future place of work.

But the organizers also put together a lot of things for adults

The officers from the prevention department provided advice on burglary protection, cybercrime and the latest scams used by internet fraudsters. There were also stands on the topics of HessenWARN, KOMPASS (municipal program security seal) and “Break your silence”; Our migration officer, the representative for the severely disabled and the official health management were also available for interested citizens. The police chaplaincy, the White Ring and the “Women Helping Women” association and many others supplemented the offerings on the information mile.

When it comes to road safety, the traffic inspectorate explained how various radar devices work. The Langenselbold police highway station had a drone operator and two high-powered patrol cars on display. There was also information about traffic prevention.

The riot police exhibited, among other things, a diving vehicle and police divers showed off their skills in the outdoor pool of the Spessart thermal baths. The water cannon was also in action. In addition to the police vehicles, the THW, the fire department, the DLRG, the DRK and the Johanniter also had their fleet and special operations equipment set up for viewing.

In addition to all of these advisory services, the demonstrations in the event areas particularly attracted spectators: during the landing of the police helicopter or the breathtaking performances by the riders, the dog squadron and the rescue dog squadron as well as the demonstration by the special operations team, no spectator seat was left unoccupied.

According to estimates by those responsible, around 10,000 visitors watched the 2023 police show in Bad Soden-Salmünster throughout the day in bright sunshine. The city of Bad Soden-Salmünster and the Southeast Hesse Police Headquarters would like to thank you for your visit!
