Thousands demonstrate in London against confinement and vaccination-Pysnnoticias

Despite confinement restrictions, which prohibit crowd gatherings, the organizers of the March appealed for the participation of people in small groups.

Thousands of people demonstrated this Saturday in London against the confinement and against the possibility of creating a vaccination passport due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The demonstration, which consisted of a march through the streets of central London, was titled “United for Freedom” and, according to Agence France-Presse, brought together thousands of people with posters saying “No to the mask, no to the vaccine, not to confinement ”and“ they are being controlled ”.

Despite confinement restrictions, which prohibit crowd gatherings, the organizers of the March appealed for the participation of people in small groups.

The protest came at a time when London is beginning to ease some restrictions and infection rates with the new coronavirus are declining in the UK.

The most recent figures, released on Friday by the British Statistical Institute, indicate that infection rates have decreased in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, but have increased slightly in Wales.

With the new coronavirus circulating at low levels, the UK has “gone from a pandemic to an endemic situation”, as Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology Sarah Walker explained to the Daily Telegraph.

The official total since the start of the pandemic in the UK stands at 127,385 confirmed deaths in 4,401,109 cases.

In total, 33,388,637 people have been immunized so far with a first dose of vaccine, of which 11,623,671 have already received a second dose, administered with an interval of between three and 12 weeks.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 3,088,103 deaths worldwide, as a result of more than 145.5 million cases of infection, according to a balance made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
