A man from Zealand in Denmark read incorrectly when he was about to scratch a scratch card on his mobile phone.
The Dane thought he had won 30 Danish kroner, but it turned out to be a completely different amount the man had won.
It writes Danish games in one press release.
– I thought I was kidding
The man had not won 30 Danish kroner, but three million Danish kroner through a scheme where he is paid 30,000 kroner a month for 100 months.
Three million Danish kroner corresponds to approximately 4 million Norwegian kroner.
– I did not know at all that I had won. I thought I won 30 Danish kroner, so I played again and I won nothing on it. Then I just finished the game, says the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous.
The Dane did not realize that he had run away with the big win before customer service from Danske spill called him to tell the good news.
When they told the man that he had won, he confirmed that he had won 30 Danish kroner.
Customer service addressed him and said that it was a question of three million kroner. The man could not understand:
– I thought the nice man in customer service was kidding. I had read wrong, and I shouted, “What?” I was completely stunned, says the winner.
– The children do not know that we have won
The Dane’s wife was sitting right next to her husband when he received the phone call with the good news.
It took a while before the news sank in for the couple, but they are happy to have won the prize.
Now they have also decided what they will spend the money on: pay off a loan at the bank, go on a sailing trip, buy new clothes and new watches.
The man says that the money is an extra joy every month and that they should also share the sum with the rest of the family.
– Our adult children do not know that we have won, but now we can help them a little extra, says the Danish winner.
