“Physicians are those who can direct their patients to the relevant specialist by issuing him a referral for a free examination”, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Health Insurance Fund and Deputy Minister of Health told BNR Dr. Alexander Zlatanov.
“There is no special package from the Health Fund for the treatment of post-covid symptoms, because they can be very different. The sick come in for tests and treatment in the general order.
We distributed additional funds, who remained and they are directed to the primary outpatient care and to the specialists. So that, these funds should be directed to patients in need – people with post-covid symptoms or with chronic diseases. “For the moment in us there is no special program or tracking methodology of patients with post-covid symptoms. There is also a lack of forms of communication with these patients, even informally or through mutual aid groups, as there are in other countries. Our patients lack a lot of information and start looking for advice through social network groups.
