Barçın: “Those who destroyed the public finances are now setting their eyes on the cost of living allowance”
CTP Deputy Head Devrim Barçın harshly criticized the government’s economic policies. Barçın said that the Ministry of Finance, under the direction of UBP, is preparing a new law to prevent workers and retirees from paying living expenses allowance in the last quarter.
He mentioned the following important points in his statement:
- The cost-of-living allowance is set to be cut by a regulation similar to the law that came into force in 2011.
- Insisting that public finances have fallen to some extent due to incompetent management, Barçın said that the former Secretaries of the Ministry of Finance were invited to the meeting.
- The 2025 budget is being prepared with the largest budget deficit in the country’s history.
- It has been confirmed that not a single penny will come from the Republic of Türkiye to the public treasury in 2024 and 2025.
- He said supporters will continue to be supported by issuing tax amnesties and this will further reduce public revenue.
Barçın called on the government to resign immediately and said, “These people from these seats will put you in their own way.”
