The group of vegans who became famous for accusing the roosters of raping the hens when fertilizing the eggs have failed again in their collection. Of the 50,000 euros they expected to harvest through a crowdfunding on the Internet, they have only gathered 1.635 euros. As published by OKDIARIO, the animal group Vegan Souls started a collection but lost everything collected due to a series of human errors. Now that they have restarted the campaign they have not been very successful.
Then there were 3,400 euros of the 50,000 they had as a goal. But they lost it due to a series of errors in the platform they used for this means of financing, the web Gofundme. At this point, they started the collection again, but after three months with the fundraiser open, their supporters have turned their backs on them.
It should be noted that this project already suffered a significant setback when most of the volunteers working in the field they abandoned. Of the more than 10 people who started with the animal sanctuary, as they call their center, most threw in the towel and only two people are still involved full time. However, lately they are receiving the visit of volunteers who remain a season. In addition to the collection through social networks, these activists in favor of animals have other forms of financing.
They try to sustain their project by selling t-shirts, lighters, raffles, etc. In recent months, this group also made headlines in the media when it was discovered that the leader of the movement, Fany, was living a double life as a prostitute. She herself on social media admitted this situation and was proud to be a “sex worker.”
In this sense, unlike the left-wing parties of the institutions, this radical group is characterized by openly defending prostitution. They advocate the “intersectionality of all struggles”, that is, they simultaneously defend the struggle against capitalism, feminism, the environment or, among other issues, the struggle against what they consider speciesism. In their social networks they show a speech referring to the existence a mass extermination on planet Earth from non-intelligent animal beings. They consider that animals should have the same rights as human beings and, therefore, do not agree to the mass ranching of any type of animal for human consumption.
For all this, these vegans on their plot carry out animal care tasks in large spaces, although they do have large fences so that they do not escape. Cows, chickens, goats, among other species. Each copy with its name and with a treatment as if it were a refugee person.
Mortgage
In a video released through her public account on Instagram, Fani, the spokesperson for Almas Veganas, regrets that they have to ask a mortgage to pay for the land where they have about 50 animals. He explains that more than 300 head of cattle can fit on the land, but given the lack of resources, they have to reduce their initial plans. He relates that there are many expenses between food, care, veterinarian, agency, etc.
Fani points out that through the photographs of animals on social networks it may seem that the project is all smiles and good times. However, he points out that behind there is a lot of work and sacrifice that cannot be seen. On the positive side, comment that they have gained a full-time involved person. Of two members dedicated to the initiative, now there are three, but still they do not manage to cover the money that is required per month. He explains that they are selling an apartment in Badalona and with that money they will ask for a mortgage to pay for the land they use. At the beginning of the project, there were nine people, but they have been abandoning ship.
As he assured in a previous video, they put 40,000 euros entry when renting the land they use in Osor, a municipality in the province of Gerona, and pay 2,000 euros per month. However, in less than a year the contract ends and they want, with a mortgage in between, to take over the property of the plot.
