According to the data of NSI for the workforce in the second quarter of 2024, the busy ones V agriculture, forestry and fisheries there were 155,200 people. The total number of employed persons in Bulgaria in the second quarter of 2024 was 2,930.3 thousand. Compared to the second quarter of 2023, the number of employed persons increased by 0.5%.

In the second quarter of 2024, 1,918.7 thousand people, or 65.5% of the employed, work in the service sector, in industry – 856.4 thousand (29.2%), and in agriculture, forestry and fishing – 155.2 thousand (5.3% ).

By employment status, the employed persons are distributed as follows: 4.5% (130.8 thousand) are employers, 6.8% (199.6 thousand) – self-employed without employment, 88.3% (2 587.7 thousand) – employed, and 0.4% ( 12.2 thousand) – unpaid family allowances workers.

Of the total number of employed persons, 1,982.7 thousand (76.6%) work in the private sector, and 605.1 thousand (23.4%) – in the public sector. There are 87.8 thousand, or 3.4% of employed persons, with temporary work (for a certain period of time).
