Manchester United have been told that Thomas Tuchel will completely transform the squad as pressure mounts on ten Hag.
United held talks with former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Tuchel over the summer as they considered sacking Ten Hag after a disappointing season in which the Red Devils finished eighth in the Premier League, although they did manage to win the FA Cup.
Tuchel, however, refused and the Old Trafford club opted to hand Ten Hag a contract extension. The manager finds himself under pressure once again, as his side have endured a difficult start to the season, and former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas has suggested the club’s bosses should try again to convince Tuchel to join the club.

“Thomas Tuchel could be the solution to Manchester United’s problems. If he came to the club and was given time, two years to build his team, the club would be in a completely different position to where it is now,” Gallas told Gambling Zone. “At Chelsea, Tuchel was very organised, the players respected him and he won the Champions League and a few other trophies, you can see why he was successful and maybe he wasn’t given enough time to turn things around.”
After losing to Brighton and Liverpool, United have just three points from their first three Premier League games of the 2024-25 season. Ten Hag will be hoping to ease some of the pressure he faces by guiding them to a win against pointless Southampton on September 14.
