“It would have to be Lars Friis, a respected manager who previously worked at Brentford, and more recently worked at Danish clubs Viborg and Aalborg,” journalist Klaus Egelund of server Ekstra Bladet told iDNES.cz.
The 46-year-old Friis could complete Sparta’s deployment team in the coming days. However, the Prague club has yet to announce a replacement for Nörgaard.
“I had the opportunity to be closer to my family and become the coach of Denmark. It doesn’t mean that I’m not happy in Sparta or that I don’t think this project will be successful,” Nörgaard said Spartan network.
“I was happy at Sparta, Prague is a beautiful city and in many ways I felt welcome here,” he continued.
Left Sparta after mid-season, in which he assisted coach Priske. A possible successor is the aforementioned Friis, who has responded to speculation about his future for the website Tipsbladet.dk. She did not want to confirm or deny his arrival in Sparta, she only told reporters that there was a lot of interest in him.
Earlier in the Discovery + broadcast, he said he was ready to work in another role after the end of September in Aalborg. “I’m not finished as head coach, but I’m not sure my next steps will lead in that direction,” he indicated.

In 1999, he started working as a coach in the Danish Midtjylland academy, where he also met Prisk. Subsequently, he worked as an assistant in Aarhus, spent two years as individual coach and B-team coach in Brentford, England and worked at home again for the last two years.
He led Viborg as head coach for fourteen months, from where he joined Aalborg in March. Management fired him in September, and he has been out of work ever since.
By the way, Friis took Czech youth representative Jan Žambůrk, whom he met during their time together in England, to his penultimate job in Viborg in January.
“The coach was one of the main reasons. I know him and he knows me,” described the former Slavia midfielder.
