Thomas Müller and Felix Neureuther team up for ‘Brain Jogging’ fun

When Thomas Müller (33) is not on the pitch, he delights his fans with funny videos. Whether with question rounds, football tricks or the “Thomats” challenges with Mats Hummels (34) – the FC Bayern star likes to come up with creative ideas to entertain his followers. Due to a hip problem, he can’t accompany his team-mates to Asia, which makes it all the more gratifying that he’s still on the scene. He has now shared a new video on YouTube that shows him together with Felix Neureuther (39).

The soccer player and the former ski professional, who made the slopes unsafe with Bayern star Bastian Schweinsteiger (38) as a young boy, obviously get along very well. Felix Neureuther brings Thomas Müller closer to the concept of “brain jogging”.

Felix Neureuther wants to reach children in particular with his program “Beweg dich schlau” – but Thomas Müller is of course curious and willing to try everything. “Today with a special man by my side,” he says in the video. “We’ve known each other for ages.”

Together they inspect the dressing room in the Allianz Arena. “Let’s see if they still hung me,” jokes Thomas Müller – and finds his jersey. The topic of the day is concentration, and he can’t resist a little jab at his long-time companions. “Basti, take a good look, we’ve spotted one or the other problem with you,” teases Thomas.

Müller, Badstuber, Lahm & Co. This is how footballers focus before a game

“Everyone has their own style of going into a game like this,” he says. “Let’s take an extreme example, you know him too, Holger Badstuber. As a defender, that’s maybe even more important… he was always totally in the tunnel, already determined. He ate up his opponent in thought. Others, like Philipp Lahm or I, first read the stadium newspaper for half an hour. We were looking forward to it: ‘So, when will we get a ball in our hands?’ We just wanted to play some football.” Creativity and joy in playing are still particularly important to Thomas Müller today.

While telling an anecdote or two, Felix redirects the topic – after all, that’s what it’s all about, the focus. After a brief look behind the scenes, they start their training. Felix shows his friend some brain challenges to connect “different levels of speed”. Concentration is required!
