Trainer Persija Jakarta Thomas Doll don’t mind the foreign players who only face one time Sabah FC. The most important thing for him now is to see the ability of the existing players.
This was disclosed by Thomas regarding the preparation of the Kemayoran Tiger to face the Rhino at the Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi City, on Sunday (5/6/2022), at 16.00 WIB.
As is known, Persija now leaves one foreign player, namely Makan Konate. The player who was born in Bamako, November 10, 1991, is now alone because his foreign colleagues, Marko Simic, Marco Motta, and Rihit Chand decided to leave the club for various reasons.
“It doesn’t matter for now (only one foreign player),” said Thomas at a virtual conference on Saturday (4/6/2022).
“I’ve spoken with the team management, all of that needs a process for foreign players. With no current (foreign players), I feel the players are well motivated. So for tomorrow’s match there is no problem,” he said.
Thomas also emphasized that the most important thing in this match was to see the readiness of the players to face the upcoming Liga 1 competition. Moreover, this is the first trial of the German coach with the club he works for.
For that he also plans to field all his players, including young footballers, during the trial against Sabah tomorrow afternoon.
“Tomorrow (all players) will be fielded because we have young players too. The main players will play 90 minutes but some will not, because young players will give their best performances,” he said.
Meanwhile, FC Sabah coach Ong Kim Swee said that although Persija only had one foreign player, they still had to be wary of.
“Persija currently only has one foreign player and the foreign player has played for Terengganu in the Malaysian League. He is a player of caliber and important for Persija,” said Ong Kim, separately.
“I know that the local players at Persija also have good qualities, so we have to be wary not only of certain players, but of everything Persija will play tomorrow,” Ong Kim added.
