The Chamber of Ioannina visited a faction of the faction “Unity of Citizens of Nea Ioannina” led by the candidate for mayor, Thomas Bega.
In the meeting with the president, Makis Chrysostomou, a broad agenda of issues was discussed mainly around the cooperation between the two bodies.
In more detail, it was agreed the necessity of setting up a body with the participation of the municipality, the chamber and other tourism bodies for the promotion of our region, as well as the cooperation to solve all the open issues that exist with the infrastructures and connections for the strengthening the transport sector.
At the same time, the need to support the traditional professions of silversmithing, iconography and woodcarving was emphasized, as well as the university’s contribution to the connection with the labor market.
Finally, from the Chamber’s point of view, the issue of DEYA tariffs was raised, especially for manufacturing companies, but also the issue of better coordination in infrastructure projects such as sidewalks and asphalt paving in areas where other interventions are to be made such as the natural gas network so that they are carried out in one year and do not constantly trouble the professionals who are active there. “Our cooperation as a Municipal Authority and also from the position of the opposition in previous years has been excellent and we hope that with the proposals we submitted and as a faction it can be done even more constructive. Throughout the previous period, we proved not only that we believe, but that we seek in every way the synergy between the bodies of the region, especially in matters where the scientific knowledge possessed by the chambers is deemed necessary. We are sure that we will continue in the same direction, jointly claiming actions, projects and interventions that will lead our region to development. After all, the Chamber is a strategic partner of the municipality and we treat it as such”, said Mr. Begas.
