This incident took place in a village in Dahod district, Gujarat, on July 6. The suspects recorded it and their video went viral on social media.

Not only paraded without clothes, the victim was also forced to carry her husband on his shoulders.
Local police official BM Patel said police had filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Tuesday and arrested the woman’s husband and 18 others.
In the video that went viral, the woman’s husband and other men—mostly his relatives—were seen dragging, beating and stripping the victim in public, including in the presence of women and children.
According to police, the victim was also forced to walk with her husband on her shoulders.
The victim, in the video, is seen covered in clothes by other women. However, her husband was seen snatching the clothes.

The woman recently eloped with another man. Her husband and other villagers quickly tracked them down and took them to the village. On July 6th, she was traumatized by appearing in public while receiving her ‘punishment’. video,” Patel was quoted as saying NDTV, Thursday (15/7/2021).
According to Patel, the suspects were arrested on charges of rioting, assault, criminal intimidation and insulting the modesty of a woman under the Indian Criminal Code and under the relevant provisions of the IT Act to record and circulate video of the incident.
