the main locations of this year’s festival will be Miskolc and Transylvania’s Nagyszebi.

the festival offers programs in 11 genres, and 150 churches open their doors, the St. Mauricius Monastery in Bakonybéli, for example, presents its own series of programs.
For the third year in a row, the Kresztconcert series is among the highlighted events, at which young musicians will perform on four consecutive nights again this year. The Tutti Cantabile Singing Ensemble welcomes the audience with songs from various churches in the Church of Our Lady in Downtown Budapest, while the Lautitia Choir from Debrecen sings at the closing Cross Concert in the Rózsák Terei Greek Catholic Church in Budapest.
In the Kálvin tér Reformed Church in Budapest, the Korossy String Quartet will perform a chamber music concert, and in the Deák tér Lutheran Church, an early music ensemble assembled for this occasion will play the church music of the great classics.

Gergely Bogányi will therefore give a piano concert on September 17 at an unusual time, at 10 pm, in the Szent Imre church in Buda, with the participation of Misi Boros.
As the opening concert of Ars Sacra in the Mátyás Church, the Gemma singing group performs songs from the eras of English vocal polyphony, the Jazzation group sings at the Lóvasút Cultural Center, and János Lackfi gives a literary evening there.
This year’s closing event will be the Szent Efrem Men’s Choir, which will begin with the premiere of a new work by a young composer, Balázs D. Kecskés, with the participation of the Budapest Strings.
A new guest at the festival is the Era Nova Chamber Orchestra, which will perform, among other things, JS Bach’s violin concerto with violinist Marley Erickson. Dániel Gryllus, Edina Mókus Szirtes, György Ferenczi and the 1st Pesti Rackák perform concerts in the Pécs Cathedral under the title “According to the letters of Pál Dalok”, in Debrecen there are church tours under the title Night of Churches, while in Budapest the 17th Sacred Architecture and Interior Architecture Conference is the 800-year-old Franciscan order. provides a cross-section of its architecture from the beginning to the present day.
Children can enjoy an adventure game on Margit Island with the help of Várázkuckó, but they can also go on a discovery trip in Esztergom on the Rózsák útja adventure tour, and the Mindszentyneum in Zalaegerszeg offers craft activities.
As the organizers pointed out, several dozen programs of Ars Sacra are related to the peace message of the motto. For example, an exhibition titled Peace-Pax opens in Galéria 12 in the 12th district, the premiere of Lajos Kathy-Horváth’s Ima a békérté is held in the Greek Catholic church in Esztergom, and an exhibition titled Loneliness Creates Peace is organized in the monastery in Bakonybél.
Anna Baky, the president of the board of trustees of the Bakonybéli Szent Mauriciusz Foundation, said that the Solis Consort in Szeged and the Italian Odhecaton Ensemble from the works of Vivaldi from 15-18. gives a concert of 19th-century European music in the monastery. Pál Veres, the mayor of Miskolc, emphasized that most of the events of the Ars Sacra festival in Miskolc are related to the festival’s message of peace.
According to the organizers Krisztina Várhelyi, Antal Flach and Ágnes Máger, 46 programs with more than 400 participants await the public in Miskolc in 9 days. 17 NGOs, 10 city institutions, all local Christian denominations and several schools are involved in the festival.
The House of Arts will host the local opening gala, the “Look for peace!” will be shown at the Feledy House. fine art competition entries, there will be a peace pilgrimage, and the closing gala evening will be held at the National Theater in Miskolc.
