This year, the Riga Festival will delight residents with various concerts around the city

This year, unlike other years, when the central venue was the Daugava embankment, on Riga’s birthday, visitors will be delighted by many mobile concerts in the vicinity of the city.

Street music events “Rīga retro” will be waiting for the listeners in Sarkandaugava, Jugla near Velnezers, Imanta and Ķengarags promenade. The concert cycle “Go Boat Shining” with performances by well-known singers and musicians will bring to life the stories about the history and mood of the neighborhoods in Arkadia Park, Ziedondarza and Ķīpsala beach. Performances of young musicians will be enjoyed in Āgenskalns market, Kalnciems quarter and in the yard of Riga Dome Choir School in concerts “Solo and jumping”.

Concerts with the participation of well-known soloists and musicians will take place in Mazjumprava manor, Jugla near Strazdumuiža stage, by Māra pond and in the yard of apartment houses in Purvciems, as well as during the walk along the city canal you will be able to enjoy musical performances on floating platforms.

Celebrating a significant anniversary, the traveling green ball of the 50th season of the Open Air Museum Fair will take place during the Riga Festival, where the audience will be delighted by the music of Dixieland and the performance of the dance ensemble. This musical event can be watched in Imanta Sports Center Square, near Āgenskalns Market, Latvian National Library, Latvian National Theater, in Purvciems near the store “Maxima”, at the intersection of Tērbatas and Elizabetes Streets.

Visitors to the festival will be able to enjoy the sounds of music in Riga’s parks and squares.

In the Town Hall Square, the Orchestra “Riga” happens to have positive emotions and a festive atmosphere, playing familiar and loving melodies to the visitors of Old Riga. Musical evenings of the music festival “Riga Jurmala” will take place in Kronvalda Park. Academic as well as world popular music themes and jazz melodies will be performed in the concert “Walk in Melody” in Vērmane Garden, but musicians, groups and ensembles of different generations will perform in the concert “Song Bridges from Heart to Heart”.

During the festival, concerts will also take place in cultural centers and churches. In the small guild you will hear ancient music in concerts “Musical trip to ancient Riga”, while VEF Culture Palace will be dominated by jazz in the concert “Walk along the paths of jazz history”. Raimonds Pauls music in the concert program “My Riga” will be played in the Riga Dome Garden. In Riga Dome, you will be able to hear music performed by several popular and well-known instrumentalists and also soloists, who will tell the history of Riga in the sounds of melodies. Lovers of choir music are welcome at Riga St. Peter’s Church in the concert “I. I love. Riga. ”

In order to provide an opportunity for a wider range of visitors to hear the holiday concerts, in which soloists and musicians from Latvia and abroad will play, video broadcasts of the concerts will be shown on the big screen in the Dome Square during the holidays. There you will be able to watch concerts from Riga Dome Garden, Small Guild and Riga St. Peter’s Church.
