This year, the organizers of the award ceremony and evaluation of recordings – the association “Latvian Association of Producers, Publishers and Distributors of Sound Recordings” or LaMPA, have decided to cancel the participation fee for the submission of recordings. Until now, when submitting an entry, it was necessary to pay a registration fee of 25 euros for each category for which the entry is applied for.
“The past year has been full of uncertainty and anxiety. The everyday life of musicians has become very different, and the future is unpredictable. However, in spite of everything, musicians continue to create, record and be with their listeners in all possible ways. Study work has become even more intense in fact, the only way to stay creative and not get lost in the whirlpool of the Covid-19. Also this year, we will focus on submitting recordings in electronic format, thus facilitating the submission process.We have prepared everything for musicians to apply for participation remotely.However, those who want to see the visual design of the recording will still be able to submit them in physical format – how convenient for everyone, “says LaMPA Chairman of the Board, Golden Microphone Awards producer Elita Mīlgrāve.
Acceptance of entries for the “Golden Microphone” award will begin on November 1 and continue until December 2. All entries issued between 2 December 2019 and 1 December 2020 will be accepted for evaluation.
