Some people love “Don’t Look Up” and think it is important. Others think it is stupid, complacent and not too subtle. Despite the disagreement, the film has become the second most watched on Netflix to date.
“It’s good to see that the political satire that dares to take a stand has woken up again in Hollywood,” writes Aftenposten’s reviewer of the Netflix film “Don’t Look Up”. Aftenposten’s political editor believes that the fact that climate scientists recognize themselves in the film should make the rest of us shudder.
In the film, a comet, a so-called “planet killer”, is on its way to Earth. Scientists Kate and Randall, who discover and warn about the comet, are met with skepticism and total paralysis of political action.
