In recent years, there has been a tremendous development on the screens in cars. Tesla kicked it off, with the Model S. Since then, the ball has been booming.
Mercedes has set a new standard with its Hyperscreen, which measures 141 centimeters – and extends over more or less the entire dashboard.
But that does not mean that development will stop there. at the Consumer Electroncis Show (CES) in Las Vegas right now, BMW has unveiled a brand new and huge screen – for those in the back seat.
Will set a new standard
In many ways, it can be said that it is high time that rear seat passengers are put in focus. After all, they are the ones who have the best opportunity to utilize a huge screen for entertainment.
You may remember how cool it was when the first car manufacturers introduced screens in the headrest on the front seats, or via a screen between the front seats.
They’re getting pretty stunned, now that BMW is introducing its Theater Screen. With it, they will set a new standard in car entertainment.

Cinema experience
The ultra-wide panoramic screen has a diagonal of 31 inches and folds down from the ceiling. At the same time, the sun blinds in the rear windows are closed, while the interior lighting is dimmed.
To get the rear seat passengers in a proper cinema atmosphere, the entire session is accompanied by a distinctive sound experience, created in collaboration between the BMW Group and the Oscar-winning film music composer Hans Zimmer.
Zimmer is also the man behind a number of the tones that in the future will be linked to the driving experiences in BMW’s electric cars.
