The Samsung keyboard is also popular because it offers a wealth of features. One of them is support for extensions for third-party applications, which allow you to access some of those applications’ services directly from the keyboard. Among them were extensions for Grammarly, Spotify and YouTube. However, these have since been removed by the Korean giant.
The Grammarly extension checked the content you typed for grammatical errors and offered corrections for those errors. The Spotify extension then made it possible to search for a song on the music streaming platform and load a link to that song into the text input field. This made it possible to share a song with someone directly from the keyboard, eliminating the need to minimize the messaging app, go to the Spotify app, search for the song, copy the link to it, go back to the messaging app, and paste the link into the text field.
The YouTube extension offered the same functionality as the Spotify extension, allowing you to search for a video on the world’s most popular video platform and load its link into the text input field to share it with someone without having to switch between apps.

Why Samsung decided to remove these extensions is currently unknown. However, the YouTube extension seemed to bypass parental controls and allow children to access inappropriate content through its keyboard. For the same reason, the Korean giant might also remove the extension for Spotify. However, why it removed the extension for Grammarly is a mystery. These extensions were very useful for many users and were one of the reasons why they used Samsung keyboards instead of others. So we can hope that Samsung will solve any problems that these popular extensions had and bring them back.
