In September, the Council of Ministers decided that the minimum wage would be PLN 3,010 gross. 2.2 million Poles receive such a salary. The salaries of many Poles will also change after conducting the New Deal.
From January, the minimum wage will increase from PLN 2,800 to PLN 3,010 gross. This is 7.1% more than in 2021 and 51.4% of the average wage in the national economy forecast for 2022.
48 percent companies intend to raise wages at the beginning of next yearwith half of them declaring salary increases of 2 to 7 percent. Only one in four employers planning higher wages say about higher increases that can compensate for the increase in living costs – according to the latest, 44th edition of the “Employer Plans” study by the Randstad and Gfk Polonia Research Institute, quoted by the portal dlahandlu.pl.
Inflation will primarily decide about a higher salary, and the second reason is the rules introduced with the New Deal. The authors of the study “Employer Plans” write that some employees will benefit from these solutions, incl. by increasing the tax-free amount or “middle class tax credit”. However, some (mainly those employed in managerial or highly specialized positions) will earn less in real terms.

However, this is not the only raise that will await employees in 2022! Many of them will also benefit from tax exemption under the new Polish Deal government program.
