After completing the installation works of the Bailey bridge at kilometer 17.5 of the route to the Pacific, in the jurisdiction of Santa Clara, Villa Nueva, the crossing will be enabled. The authorities announced that this Wednesday, August 16, starting at five in the morning, the passage will be opened.
After supervising the structure of the modular bridge, representatives of the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of National Defense held a press conference. In it they announced the authorization of the route, after the placement of the bridge. This was installed in eight days by a member of the Army Corps of Engineers.

Colonel Rubén Téllez, spokesman for the military institution, explained that only the transit of light vehicles and extra-urban buses will be allowed, up to 35 tons, since the bridge only supports an average of 45 tons.

The spokesperson also announced the strategy during peak hours or where the greatest amount of vehicular circulation is registered. They reported that the two-lane system could be used in the same direction, at intervals of time.

The authorization of the passage in this provisional bridge will alleviate to some extent the problems of vehicular traffic on the CA-9 highway; however, the authorities asked users to travel with caution in the area, respecting the speed regulations that will be established by the PMT agents, as well as the weight limits.
