For many it may be on the list of New Year’s resolutions: to read more books. But this can get quite tricky if you don’t have that much free time. With these handy tips you will succeed, even with little time, to achieve your reading goals!
Set goals
It is wise to set a reading goal for yourself beforehand. Don’t start big right away, it must remain feasible. If you can’t manage to read one book a week, choose to read two books a month. Also try the Goodreadsapp. With this app you can start a challenge, follow other readers and also write reviews about the books you have read.
Schedule time
Make time to read. Even if it’s just 30 minutes before you go to sleep or 45 minutes during breakfast. Plan this reading time in your calendar. You can also choose to read a certain number of pages or chapters per day. Then you are not time-bound.
Join a reading club
Start a new reading club, or join an existing one. A book club like this is a fun and cozy way to start reading more. And it’s also a good excuse to see your friends more often. So win-win!
Always a book at hand
Try to read whenever you have free time. That can be on the train or in the waiting room at the dentist. That is why it is useful to always take a book with you in your bag. Or you can of course just download an audiobook on your phone. Do you not like such a heavy reading book in your bag and are you not a big fan of e-readers? Then a crossbeam (book form, in which the page layout of one page from a conventional book is printed transversely on two pages, ed.) might be the option for you.

Waste of time
Have you started a book and do you notice after about 30 pages that you don’t like it? Then stop reading and start a new book. It is a sin to continue reading reluctantly. Not only is that a waste of your time, but it also takes the fun out of reading. And that would be a shame!
