The arrest was achieved in Urabá Antioqueño.
In a joint operation between the Police, Army and Air Force, the head of the Gulf Clan, Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, alias ‘Otoniel’, was captured, one of the most wanted drug traffickers in the country.
For ‘Otoniel’ the United States government offered a reward of up to five million dollars for information that would facilitate its location and capture.
Úsuga David is considered the head of the network called Clan del Golfo, which sends tons of cocaine to Central America and the United States through the Urabá region.
The Osiris operation allowed the arrest of this man, exactly in the village of El Totumo de Necoclí. This operation had been undertaken since the beginning of the year, with more than 3,000 men in the Nudo del Paramillo area, on the borders of Antioquia and Córdoba.
Police intelligence had revealed that this criminal boss no longer had electronic devices to try to evade the special commandos that were behind his steps. In addition, he did not go to houses, but stayed in the virgin forest, mobilized on mules and sent his instructions through messengers in a personal way.
