Singer Ilkka Sysimetsä aka Frederik, 79, cheerfully answers the phone. The summer has included everything from gigging to camping and daytime coffee.
The artist badly hurt his knee and shoulder when he fell earlier this year. Now the problems are small aches, except for the life left behind.
– Healthy as a goat, he describes his condition.
In the beginning, the pain was such that the singer describes being on tramadol for several months. Lifting weights and tennis are now possible.
– Not Linkka or anything, but longer strain causes pain.
During the call, Frederik thinks that it might be time to invite him to a friend’s summer house. He usually calls before he arrives and asks what he can bring with him.
Daytime coffee club only
Summer life also includes romance. The singer admits that she has had enough of the so-called daytime coffee company. Frederik meets some “old friends” every couple of weeks. Together we enjoy cake and a bun, watch a movie and stay overnight for a day or two.

Frederik is not interested in any kind of permanent relationship. Throughout his life, he has had longer relationships. A few years ago, a relationship came to an abrupt end.
– I came home from traveling and my house was empty, the singer reveals.
The girlfriend had decided to disappear completely. The singer admits that he had been away and traveling a lot, and couldn’t spend all the time taking care of the relationship. My partner had complained of loneliness. Still, Frederik believed that the relationship was stable.
When in a relationship, the singer’s style included bringing flowers and gifts. Frederik has also bought diamond rings.
