“THIS WAS NOT THE OBJECTIVE…” – DISTRICT OF LYON AND RHONE OF FOOTBALL

WOMEN’S FUTSAL – M. HUMBERT: “THAT WAS NOT THE OBJECTIVE…”

TWO DAYS FROM THE END, THE FS CIVRIEUX D’AZERGUES FUTSALLEUSES HAVE BECOME THE FIRST RHONE WOMEN’S FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
MAXIME HUMBERT, THE TRAINER, REVIEWS THIS TITLE WITH A CONTROLLED HUMAN ADVENTURE…

Max, how does it feel to be the first women’s futsal Rhône champion?
It’s a huge honour, even though it was clearly not our team’s main objective this season. It was above all the progress of our group which was created in September 2020. Also to offer a practical competition to our players in order to retain them and not see them go back to outdoor football.

Tell us about your team…
The group is made up of fourteen players who are between 18 and 51 years old: six have more or less long experience in outdoor football and eight are neophytes who have discovered football through futsal this season. The team trains twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays.

What made her seek this title?
First of all, a presence of 90% of girls at each training session, with a constant desire to work and progress. These two parameters allowed us to put in place a solid foundation tactically. Then, an impressive collective solidarity with a collective that has always prevailed over individualities and a group that lives very well off the field. On the field, each player is ready to make the effort because she knows that her teammates will do at least as much as her. Finally, the momentum of the club behind this team, with two training slots from September, the creation last season of an event around it and at each home game, the presence of the club’s leaders, in addition to fifteen senior players. This team was immediately integrated into the club and it pays it back with the group’s participation in each event organized.

“I INVITE ALL CLUBS TO JOIN THIS CHAMPIONSHIP TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PRACTICE TO THEIR PLAYERS…”

Beyond the last matches to play, what future for this group?
A very good future, with the desire to continue to develop women’s futsal within the FSCA and the creation of a second team next season, as well as the establishment of young women’s teams within the club.

Your vision of women’s futsal?
She is very positive. The matches are intense with little dribbling and a lot of research for collective solutions. This makes for very enjoyable matches to watch.

The final word for you…
I invite all external football clubs to join the women’s futsal championship next season to offer additional practice to their players. Also to continue the development of the practice and so that the District of Lyon and the Rhone becomes a national reference as on the plan of the young people.
And of course long live the FSCA!
