After the unveiling of The Fireworks (peanuts!) and the completely unexpected Dutch celebrity in the suit of De Champagnebottle during the day The Masked Singer New Years Eve Special, the identity of the sweet Oliebolletje seemed quite easy.
The entire panel was sure that Robert ten Brink was on stage. His voice seemed very recognizable, especially during the chorus of the song Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones. And although names like Mark Rutte and Waylon also came up, ‘Doctor Love’ remained a suspect. Although: could Robert dance like that?
Also during the second part of The Masked Singer New Years Eve Special the panel thought they heard Robert sing again. And apart from a wild guess (Albert Verlinde or Henny Huisman), nobody really started to doubt.

The ball came from De Oliebol and tadaa: of course that was Robert. He chose Mick Jagger to imitate, because he couldn’t sing either. It may have been obvious, but it was nice to see Robert on stage.
This is why Francis van Broekhuizen was allowed to temporarily replace Buddy Vedder!
