The Permanent Military Court dealing with criminal cases, chaired by the court administrator, PSC Lieutenant Colonel Maroun Tannous, has decided to sentence in absentia the fugitive defendant, Ali MZ (Lebanese), to hard labor for life and a fine of one million pounds, obliging him to present a military rifle, deprive him of his civil rights and execute the warrant for his arrest in his right, in support of articles 201/549, 733, 72 / Arms and ammunition, 205, 63 and 49 / Sanctions , for attempting, in Al-Sharawneh-Baalbek location, on 2/22/2021, to kill members of the security forces while on duty, and to carry and possess a military weapon without a license, and to cause sabotage on military vehicles.
The court also decided to sentence the fugitive defendant Omar Y. (Syrian) to death in absentia and to oblige him to exhibit a weapon and execute the arrest warrant against him, pursuant to articles 335/Penalty and 2 /4 of the law 11/1/ 1958, 383 and 368/ Pene, 72/ Weapons and ammunition and 205 E 49, 63 and 98 / Pene, for his audacity to belong to terrorist groups with the intention of committing crimes against person and undermine the authority and prestige of the state, inciting sectarian conflict and inciting strife among sects, threatening military personnel because of their work, insulting the military establishment, and possessing weapons of war without a license.
