Completed over 15 years ago, Six Feet Under may be making a comeback. HBO is working on a sequel to Alan Ball’s award-winning series.
It was one of the nuggets made in HBO: Six Feet Under, broadcast from 2001 to 2005, told the daily life of the Fisher, a family at the head of a funeral director in Los Angeles. The death of the patriarch will unite all the members around this family business.
Multi-awarded at the Emmy Awards and Golden Globes, this series created by Alan Ball (American Beauty, True Blood) and worn by Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy and Lauren Ambrose, can boast of having one of the best end of series of all time.
Yet, according to proprietary information from Variety, a sequel to Six Feet Under is in development at HBO. For the moment, no screenwriter is attached to the project and no plot has been decided.
We also do not know if this is a direct sequel or a reboot or if these potential new episodes will be inserted before the very last minutes of the series finale, which would allow some original actors to come back.
Six Feet Under: By the way, how does it end?
According to Variety, creator Alan Ball and producers Bob Greenblatt and David Janollari will participate in this developing project. The American media insists on the fact that it is possible that this project does not go beyond the stage of discussions.
For those who would like to catch Six Feet Under, the five seasons of the series are available on OCS in France.
