In recent years, Spotify has become the world’s largest music streaming provider. According to its own information, it has more than 420 million monthly active users. Yes opposite Amazon Music, Tidal or Apple Music, Spotify has a major disadvantage.
Spotify: This is how the sound gets better
All the music streaming services mentioned offer their users Hi-Fi quality music. However, there is a trick you can use to improve the audio quality on Spotify. If you are in the app on your mobile phone, you have to tap on the gear wheel in the top right corner. Now you get to the settings of Spotify. Then swipe down until you get to the “Audio Quality” menu item. Here you have the two options to determine the audio quality when streaming over WiFi and over a cellular connection. On the app for laptop and computer For this option, click the arrow next to your profile picture in the top right corner. Under “Settings” you will find the menu item “Audio Quality”.
You have to watch out for that
While you can set the audio quality to “very high” in the WLAN, you should take a closer look at the option with a cellular connection. A very high audio quality on Spotify takes up much more of your included data volume than the “Low” and “Normal” options. If you only have 1 or 3 GB of data volume per month, you should not set the audio quality to “very high”.
