This Textile Company Already Uses 100 Percent of EBT Electricity

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT PLN (Persero) and textile company PT MAS Sumbiri signed an agreement to purchase a New Renewable Energy Certificate (EBT) or Renewable Energy Certificate (REC).

PLN UP3 Semarang Manager Eric Rossi Priyo Nugroho said that through the purchase of this 1,385 kilo volt ampere (kVA) REC, PT MAS Sumbiri contributed to supporting the program to accelerate the achievement of Indonesia’s new renewable energy mix target of 23 percent by 2025.

“REC is also a manifestation of PLN’s commitment to realizing Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission target by 2060. To PT MAS Sumbiri, we congratulate you on the legality of using EBT,” said Eric in a press release, Sunday (23/1/2022).

Eric on the occasion also revealed that his party is optimistic that PLN’s REC service products can be one of the solutions in an effort to encourage the use of clean energy in the country, especially in the city of Semarang.

General Manager of PT MAS Sumbiri KREEDA Division Sajith Danansooriya appreciated PLN’s services in providing REC. Sajith said that PT MAS Sumbiri was the first unit of MAS Holding to use NRE.

“PT MAS Sumbiri is the first unit in MAS Holding that has used 100 percent renewable energy. I hope this cooperation with PLN will continue to be maintained, “he said.
